The fraud also involves the addition of other substances to the fuel, which then ends up in the cars of motorists unaware of the damage it can cause.

The investigations showed that about 9% of the diesel samples analyzed presented discrepancies, and therefore found confirmation with the surveillance and investigation activities of the Customs Office of Viterbo – Territorial Operational Section of Rieti.
As a result, seizures of fuel tanks immediately took place, but more are expected checks on the territory in the coming days. The checks will make it possible to find other crafty ones who try to circumvent the rise in prices with completely illegal solutions.
