Spy Testing Ferrari SF90 Versione Speciale With Aero Upgrades

The Ferrari SF90 Versione Speciale will take an already fast supercar and add even more performance. This new spy shot captures the vehicle under development at the Nürburgring.

It’s weird to see a test vehicle wearing a sponsor sticker. Ferrari probably used it to make people think this was a race car, not an upcoming road vehicle.

Design tweaks include a much larger front splitter. There are also revisions to the front fascia. On the red car in these photos, the company hides this part with the panels and sensors in front of it. Revised, narrower uprights seen on the gray car. The inlet under the headlights is not wide but taller.

Zoom in on the hood to see the new raised part near the windshield. The new form is most visible when looking at this SF90 from the side.

At the rear, the red car in this photo has a large wing on the rear deck. This is the first time we’ve seen it, although it has a few galleries of previous spy shots from the SF90 Versione Speciale. One possibility is that the work might be part of an optional performance package.

There is camouflage at the end of the decklid. There seems to be a more aggressive design for the spoiler integrated into the piece.

The Ferrari also fits an open strut for the exhaust tip. This is definitely not a production specification layout, which suggests that the final Versione Speciale may have a revision to the outlets.

The existing SF90 produces a total of 986 horsepower (735 kilowatts) from a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine and three electric motors. It’s unclear if the Versione Speciale will increase the output even more or if the aerodynamic tweaks will be a major upgrade for this version.

The information available so far suggests the SF90 Versione Speciale debuts in 2023, possibly in the second half of the year. Existing models start at €430,000 or €480,000 with the Assetto Fiorano weight reduction package. The VS model will likely cost more.
