Marc Marquez made his return to the track at the Misano circuit, one hundred days after the last operation on his humerus.
Marc Marquez’s day has finally arrived. 100 days after the last operation on his right arm, held last June 2 at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, he returned to the track on his Honda RC213V on the occasion of the MotoGP test scheduled at Misano. One hour from the green light, he trod the Adriatic asphalt, first of all to examine the real conditions of the arm struggling with a unique effort like the one that implies a 1000cc prototype.
The last time we saw the Cervera champion at the handlebars of his Honda was on May 29, when he participated in the Mugello Grand Prix, a few days before flying to the States for the intervention by Dr. Sanchez Sotelo. After spending two days as a spectator in the HRC box at Misano, Marc Marquez he finally put on his suit and helmet to get to work on the updates for the next MotoGP season, after a morning meeting with his technical staff.

His times were immediately interesting even if far from the best provisional time. I’m certainly not the priority at the moment and the broad smiles you see in the Repsol Honda garage say a lot about the atmosphere in the team. Among the novelties under consideration by the eight-time champion a new aluminum rear swingarm made by the Austrian company Kalex, as well as various aerodynamic configurations. He first did a six-lap session, then six more, until he completed 39 laps without incident in the morning session, finishing eight tenths off the best lap.
The most visible novelty to the naked eye concerns the aerodynamic package of the RC213V which clearly took inspiration from Aprilia RS-GP22, as can be seen from the more pronounced belly of the hull and in the shape of the wings. It is likely that Marc Marquez will also be able to consider a new engine specification for the 2023 season as well as some electronics setups.
