McLaren Designers Amazed After Driving Bugatti Veyron And Chiron

Real estate mogul Manny Khoshbin is known to have a soft spot for the McLaren SLR (he has nine), but the collection includes some of the most desirable supercars ever made. In addition to the Bugatti Veyron, he commissioned a one-time Hermes Edition Chiron to be used with his Huayra and Speedtail Hermes models. Speaking of McLarens, the entrepreneur invited two of Woking’s top designers to take his Bugatti out.

Apart from driving his valuables, Manny Khoshbin also allows others to sample his supercars. Alex and Steve from the McLaren design team had the opportunity to drive both W16 monsters from Molsheim and let’s just say they were impressed with the whole experience Bugatti has to offer. One packs 1,001 horsepower while the other has 1,500 hp, so they’re both playing in four-figure horsepower leagues along with McLaren’s own Speedtail.

While the Speedtail gets 1,055 hp with the help of an electric motor, the Bugatti duo is a pure ICE with an 8.0 liter engine. The McLaren peeps enjoyed the thrill that the quad turbocharger gave and also loved how the planted car felt despite its ridiculous power. The interior of the Chiron gives the impression of “riding in a fine piece of sculpture or jewelry.”

The Veyron feels more interesting to drive while the Chiron is a more refined car. No doubt, both provide a different experience compared to the current McLarens claim. The Bugatti is a more comfortable GT with unlimited resources, while the 720S and Senna are machines that focus more on the track that likes to corner at high speeds.

Apart from owning the Veyron and Chiron, Manny also ordered the Bolide. Sold out since the start of the year, this is essentially a track version of the Chiron weighing in at just 1,450 kilograms (3,196 pounds), which is incredible for a hypercar with a massive sixteen-cylinder engine. Only 40 will be made, €4 million each (before tax).
