Porsche 911 GT3 RS 2023 Debuts Today: Watch Livestream

The most track-focused Porsche 911 from the 992 generation debuted today to take the GT3 to a new level and get the “RS” ending. Spyed on repeated tests at the Nürburgring, the new flavor of Zuffenhausen’s iconic sports car will have one of the wildest aerodynamic packages ever installed on a road car. The giant hindwing would be a dead giveaway for separating the new breed from its lesser sibling.

It will also have more scoops and vents than we could count, along with a grille on the front fenders that will be hard to miss due to its sheer size. Knowing Porsche’s modus operandi, it’s likely that the 911 GT3 RS will lose a bit of weight compared to the non-RS model and will have to get various chassis and suspension adjustments. Engineers might also install upgraded brakes and tinker with handling further.

Porsche says the 2023 911 GT3 RS will have “approximately 500 PS,” but that’s not entirely accurate. Turning the German pferdestarke into horsepower, that translates to 493 hp, which is actually about 10 hp less than the standard GT3. Perhaps the true power of the engine is hidden in plain sight because the license plate above reads “525.” Converting PS to hp, it will be 518 hp or 25 hp more compared to the non-RS model.

However, this is just speculation on our part, so it’s better to wait for Porsche to release the new 911 GT3 RS. We expect a naturally aspirated flat-six boxer engine with a displacement of 4.0 liters to send power to the rear axle via the seven-speed PDK. As far as torque is concerned, it will have at least 469 Newton-meters (346 pound-feet) of the regular GT3.

Following the reveal of the GT3, Porsche is planning several additions to its already extensive sports car portfolio. The 992.2 generation model aka the facelift should see the introduction of a Safari/Dakar model with higher ground clearance along with the hybrid model. Ideally, the new GT2 RS is also coming soon.
