Audi Q6 E-Tron Sportback Sped New Testing Along With Regular Model

Audi’s EV lineup will expand with the introduction of the Q6 E-Tron crossover. When it arrives, it will be available in two body styles, and a number of new spy shots have caught testing the Sportback variant alongside the regular model.

New photos show Audi covering up the crossover; however, a spy shot from March captured the Q6 with its front end exposed, revealing its style. The crossover will feature a split-headlight design flanking a large closed grille, which sits above the angular front bumper and lower grille openings.

Audi covered almost every part of this example in camouflage, but a few elements stood out through the cover. The taillights are thin and the Q6 hazard marker is visible. The difference between the Sportback and the regular Q6 lies in the rear, where the Sportback has a sloping roof design like a fastback. It will take up cargo space and rear headroom, but its design stands out from other boxy crossover models.

We haven’t gotten a glimpse of the interior yet, but a well-angled spy shot manages to peek, showing off an odd-looking screen setup that might not be a production form. The Audi E-Tron GT and Q4 E-Tron were launched with a screen on the dashboard, while the Q6 spy shots show the screen protruding from the dashboard. A digital instrument cluster must sit in front of the driver’s seat.

Powertrain details remain elusive, but the EV will come in single and dual motor configurations. Range and output are a mystery, but the top-tier RS performance variant can deliver up to 600 horsepower (447 kilowatts). The new Q6 will share the PPE platform with the upcoming Porsche Macan EV.

Audi has not set a date to introduce the new EV, but it should arrive in 2023 at the latest. Nothing is official, however, and there are rumors that it could break the cover before the end of the year. These things are liquid. The new Q6 E-Tron will be placed above the Q4 E-Tron in Audi’s lineup when the crossover goes on sale.
