Lamborghini Huracans and Jeep Grand Cherokees aren’t your typical foes, but things that are rare on Hoonigan’s YouTube channel. In his latest video, a modified Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo Evo and a modified Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 line up for the 1,000-foot race trio to see which 1,000-plus-horsepower hot rod is the fastest.

The Huracan is equipped with a twin bolt-on turbocharger system that matches the standard V10. The setup delivers 1,200 horsepower (894 kilowatts) to the rear wheels. The front all-wheel-drive system broke down, leveling the playing field between a Lamborghini and a ruthless Jeep.

The Huracan faces off against the Jeep’s twin-turbocharged 6.1-liter V8 engine. This produces over 1,000 horsepower (745 kilowatts) channeled to all four radial drag tires.

The first race was a simple head-to-head fight that had Jeep jumping off the ground. Lamborghini was right behind him but couldn’t catch up. Jeep wins with two car lengths. The second race dealt a blow to Lamborghini, which launched in front of the Grand Cherokee SRT8. The Jeep was unable to catch up, allowing Lamborghini to cross the finish line first by several car lengths.

The third and final race between the two was another head-to-head fight. The Jeep got off to a good start from Lamborghini, gaining a sizeable lead, but the Jeep weighed nearly 5,000 pounds (2,267 kilograms), and the lighter Lamborghini was able to catch up. The Italian supercar closed the gap and passed the Jeep just before the finish line. Lamborghini wins by car length.

Jeep makes a lot of power for a crossover, especially from 2006, but today’s family carriers are fast. They can compete with supercars and provide a level of supercar power and performance. High-powered models help automakers market crossovers and SUVs to consumers flocking to vehicles.
