Lynk & Co The Next Day Concept Debuts To Preview New Design Language

Lynk & Co – the luxury and high-tech car brand owned by Geely China – already has a lineup of electric vehicles sold in Asia and select European markets, and the company is now poised to see its future. There’s a new concept from the automaker that was introduced in China during the Spring/Summer Conference and showcases Lynk & Co’s new design direction.

What you see in the attached gallery below is described as a “new energy four-door GT” by the marque and takes the form of a large futuristic-looking liftback with a suicide door. The front end stays true to the company’s current design language with thin vertical headlights, although the rest of the fascia is quite different. There are angular panels that serve as radiator grilles flanked by two large edgy air openings in the bumper. The bottom of the bumper is where the hidden sensors are mounted.

From the side, the concept looks quite edgy and muscular with the large wheel arches hiding the aerodynamically optimized alloy wheels. The roofline is low and transforms into a sleek, sporty-looking rear with a coast-to-coast LED bar that connects the minimalist taillights. The rear bumper has a diffuser with a shape similar to the front bumper lip. A large panoramic glass roof covers the area from the hood to the center of the rear fascia.

The highlight of the interior is perhaps the odd-looking yoke that doubles as a steering wheel, which has a small integrated screen. Functions as an instrument cluster screen, while in the center of the dashboard there is a large screen for the infotainment system. The floating center console creates an airy feel in the cabin, where four individual seats are housed.

Lynk & Co has been tight-lipped about the technical specifications of the concept, even though it’s reportedly powered by a plug-in hybrid system. The combustion engine is connected to the front wheels, while the electric motor is responsible for the rear axle. However, the exact performance and efficiency figures are unknown.
