Wireless Phone Charging Reintroduced To 2022 Cadillac XT6

The Cadillac XT6 2022 is once again assembled with full wireless phone charging features, Cadillac Society has learned.

All XT6 units that normally come with wireless phone charging are once again built with the feature. Previously, the feature was limited to July 2021.

As a reminder, wireless charging is included as standard in the XT6 Premium Luxury and Sport trims, and that feature isn’t offered at all on the base XT6 Luxury trim.

While the wireless phone charging feature has returned, some other features are still being withheld from the 2022 Cadillac XT6 due to the global microchip shortage, including heated seats and ventilated seats along with a heated steering wheel, which have been restricted since December 2021. However, the luxury brand is showing that it is. will be able to reassemble these features on units assembled without them as soon as the microchip shortage situation permits.

Additionally, certain parking assist features are also withheld from the XT6 luxury crossover, including Rear Park Assist along with Front and Rear Park Assist. At this time, it’s unclear if or when this feature will return to the XT6.

The 2022 Cadillac XT6 is also beset by supplier issues limiting the availability of the Onyx Package, which adds a series of dark-themed accents to the vehicle’s exterior. However, the XT6 now has the Onyx Lite Plan available, which offers many of the same tools as the Onyx Plan.

Just a reminder, the 2022 Cadillac XT6 is offered with two engine options. The 2.0L I4 turbocharged engine (production code LSY) has 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, and is standard on the base Luxury trim level. These models wear the 350T badge on the elevator doors. Meanwhile, the Premium and Sport trim levels feature a naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 engine (production code LGX), which makes 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque. These models wear the 400 badge on the elevator doors. The XT6 was built at the Cadillac Spring Hill Plant in Tennessee.
