2022 Cadillac CT4 No Longer Available With Garnet Metallic Paint

The 2022 Cadillac CT4 small luxury sedan will no longer be offered in Garnet Metallic exterior colors, Cadillac Society has learned.

The dark red color has been made for the 2022 model year and is no longer available on the new CT4 units. It’s unclear how many individual units of the CT4 were produced with Garnet Metallic, or whether the colors will return for the 2023 model year.

Previously, Garnet Metallic was offered exclusively on CT4 units with Luxury or Premium Luxury trims. In other words, this paint is not offered as an exterior paint option on the top 2022 CT4 Sport, CT4-V or CT4-V Blackwing. It is considered a premium color and costs an additional $625 to complete.

It should be noted that Garnet Metallic is also not currently available for the 2022 Cadillac CT5.

As a reminder, the 2022 Cadillac CT4 Luxury, Premium Luxury and Sport are powered by a turbocharged 2.0L I4 (production code LSY) with 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. These models carry the 350T moniker on the decklid. Rear-wheel drive is standard, while all-wheel drive is optional for the premium.

Prices for the 2022 Cadillac CT4 start at $34,840 for the rear-wheel drive model in the base Luxury trim, and $37,415 for the all-wheel drive. Production of the luxury sedan for the 2022 model year began in early October 2021 after a nearly five-month hiatus due to an ongoing global microchip shortage.

While production of the Cadillac CT4 for the 2022 model year is currently at full capacity at the Lansing Grand River plant, the microchip shortage continues to have an impact on the vehicle, as it is not currently available to order with Super Cruise, Cadillac’s semi-autonomous driver assistance technology. In addition, the lack of microchips also limits the availability of certain garden assistance features.
