Overhauled Coachman RV Features Spacious Cabin With Lots Of Wood Trim

Eric and Allison were the couple behind creating the 1976 Coachman Leprechaun and turning it into a truly modern machine for life on the road. They called van Clementine and gave an extensive tour of him in this video.

When they got it, the Clementine had a nice exterior for the vehicle’s age, but the interior was straight out of the 1970s. Worse still, there was mildew and rotten wood hidden under the ancient style. The couple had to strip the cabin to bare metal and rebuild it from there.

The interior now looks like a country cabin. There’s cedar board on the roof, pine cabinetry, and vinyl flooring with a wood look. The bed and sofa have bright white upholstery. Plus, there are plenty of windows to let in natural light. After spending time in Joshua Tree National Park, the couple got an appreciation for the desert and included some of these touches in their decor.

The raised bed is directly above the van cabin. The couple had a ladder to climb into it. This space has windows on three sides and a ceiling fan, which means there’s plenty of natural light up there.

The back of the RV holds the kitchen. This includes a gas stove and a pair of homemade cabinets. The blue paint is a nice contrast to the white and brown colors that dominate the rest of the interior.

The couple wanted a proper bathroom with separate toilet and shower, and they were able to make it happen. Like most other interiors, the walls in the bathroom have wood paneling.

To turn off the network, there are three 120-amp-hour batteries. There are two 200 watt solar panels on the roof.

The exterior of the Clementine looks original but has freshly sealed seams to keep the vehicle watertight. The space that was previously for the generator now has a sliding grill. Power comes from the new Chevrolet 350-cubic-inch (5.74-liter) V8.

The couple plans to install a radio and a special speaker system in the cabin. Other than this, Clementine looks more than ready for her years on the road.
