The 2027 GMC Acadia will introduce two new exterior paint options as part of an ongoing model year update, replacing a pair of finishes that have been in place since the crossover’s 2024 redesign. The changes are small in scope, but reflect GMC’s cadence of visual refreshes aimed at keeping the three-row utility vehicle competitive in a crowded segment.
For 2027, Acadia adds Ink (color code G46) and Trailstone Green Metallic (GTM) to its palette. These two finishes will replace Crystal Metallic (GXK) and Downpour Metallic (GXP), both of which have been offered since the launch of the current generation. Unfortunately, there are no photos of this color in the Acadia available yet. This shift represents a shift towards darker, softer colors, in line with broader industry trends favoring neutrals and understated colors.

Availability will vary by trim level. Ink will be offered as an extra-cost option exclusively on the top-of-the-range Denali and Denali Ultimate trims. This placement reinforces the model’s premium feel, where a darker finish is often combined with high-end chrome or Vader accents. Trailstone Green Metallic, meanwhile, will be available at extra cost on the Elevation trim only, giving the variant a distinct visual identity within the range.
Notably, the AT4 trim doesn’t receive any new colors for 2027. GMC doesn’t appear to be changing the off-road-focused model’s aesthetic for now, likely relying on solid design cues and the existing palette to carry it over to the next model year.

While paint updates rarely change a vehicle’s core appeal, they play a measurable role in showroom traffic and buyer perception. Color remains one of the quickest ways for automakers to signal freshness without incurring the expense of structural changes. As a result, even incremental updates like this can impact ordering patterns, especially on higher trims where personalization carries greater weight.
Production of the 2027 GMC Acadia is expected to follow the brand’s typical annual cycle, with new colors arriving as part of the standard model year transition. Pricing details for the surcharge finishes have not been disclosed, but are expected to be in line with the current premium paint surcharges.
