Aston Martin Prototype: Caught Testing Video

  • A new video shows Aston Martin testing a mysterious new prototype.
  • It has a Formula 1 inspired design that includes the Halo cockpit protection system.
  • It looks like it has a hybrid V12 engine, just like the Valkyrie.

Short TikTok video has left us scratching our heads. The video allegedly shows Aston Martin testing a new hypercar that looks as if the automaker crossed its Formula 1 car with the Valkyrie.

The clip does not provide any real details about the vehicle, showing it leaving an undisclosed lane. It has a single seat with the Halo cockpit protection system, like you’d see on a real F1 car, but the aerodynamics are much more extreme—and the car looks very wide.

It appears Aston’s new car has a similar front suspension setup to the Valkyrie—double wishbones with pushrod-actuated torsion bars. The front nose also looks similar to the Valkyrie, with a bladed bumper and a pair of studs connecting the lower front splitter.

The rear of the prototype is hard to see, but it has very wide wings and a central exhaust exit. There’s also a large intake above the cockpit, crowned with a large shark fin along the spine, similar to the Valkyrie LM.

Possible Powertrain

The audio video quality isn’t great, but it looks like Aston installed a V12 hybrid engine in this vehicle, perhaps the same as the one used in the Valkyrie. The engine shuts off when the driver leaves the track, and the car moves silently under its own power.

The hybrid V12 that powers the Valkyrie is a Cosworth-developed 6.5-liter engine. The engine revs up to 11,000 rpm, and the car’s combined output is 1,160 horsepower.

Motorcycle Pickup1: The Aston Martin Valkyrie is already a crazy car. It produces approximately 4,000 pounds of downforce in its standard configuration and can reach 3.3 lateral g-forces. This may be an extreme version, and perhaps even a successor to Valkyrie.
