The 1990s was when SUVs went mainstream, moving from utilitarian work vehicles to the comfortable family cars we know today. One of these SUVs is the Ford Expedition. It will turn 30 years old in 2027, and Ford is celebrating with a 30th Anniversary Appearance Package.
The most striking aspect of this package is the exterior paint color. It wears Ford’s Blue Ember metallic tri-coat, originally intended for the Mustang Dark Horse, and features unique badging. The automaker combines the exterior color with 22-inch high-gloss ebony wheels.
Inside, the Expedition features embossed 30th anniversary badging on the sliding center console lid and door sills. An anniversary package will be available on Expeditions equipped with the Stealth Appearance Package and will be distinguished by a Salt Crystal Gray interior.

The automaker has sold nearly 3 million Expeditions since its launch in 1996 for the 1997 model year. There have been five generations of the SUV, with the Expedition spawning iconic special editions like the Eddie Bauer.
Latest Expedition
Ford introduced the fifth-generation Expedition for 2025. Under the hood is a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine that produces 400 horsepower and 480 pound-feet of torque. The high-output engine variant, available as standard on the Tremor and optional on the Platinum, can produce up to 440 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque. This engine is combined with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
While the exterior received evolutionary updates, the cabin received significant changes with a new dashboard design, new screens, new steering wheel and other changes. The digital instrument cluster is a 24.0-inch screen positioned high on the dashboard near the base of the windshield.
Ford hasn’t released pricing for the appearance package, but we expect pricing to be announced closer to the SUV’s on-sale date. The 2026 Expedition starts at $65,495.
