2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Spying Right Drive Configuration

Actually, this is not a traditional spy photo. This is not a secret prototype with the camouflage removed. However, this is rare and for Chevrolet Corvette fans outside of North America, it is very important. That’s because it’s the hottest Z06 you can possibly get.

As with the C8 Corvette Stingray, Chevrolet will offer a right-hand drive version of the 2023 Corvette Z06 for markets where people drive on the left side of the road. This particular Z06 was seen in Michigan wearing a factory license plate and comes with the Z07 package. It’s impossible to miss the massive hind wings, but the tiny ones up front are a bit subtle. The big brakes also look like carbon ceramic, further confirming this is a Z06 in its hottest trim.

Besides the steering wheel is on wrong right side of the car, another attractive feature of the global market Z06 model is the exhaust. In the United States, the high-powered 5.5-liter V8 sings through the four ends of a megaphone neatly lined up in the center of the rear fascia. Elsewhere, the finisher is around the corner in the same format as the C8 Stingray. This is not going to happen to every Z06 sold worldwide; Chevrolet has stated the side-exit exhaust leaves room for a particulate filter. In areas with stricter emissions regulations, this is the car you’ll see.

This means less visual punch, but the DOHC LT6 V8 under the hood still packs a punch. It develops 670 horsepower (500 kilowatts) at a high 8,400 rpm. That’s just 200 revolutions below the 8,600 rpm redline, making the C8 Z06 unlike any other production Corvette in the car’s long history. It’s also the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 engine ever offered in any production car, and under optimal conditions it sends the Z06 to 60 mph in 2.6 seconds.

Deliveries of the 2023 Corvette Z06 are already underway in the United States. Other markets will soon see the supercar.
