Huracan Sterrato Confirmed To Debut In December As Lamborghini’s Last Pure ICE Car

Being teased several times, the Huracan on stage finally came. Tucked into the press release about Lamborghini’s best Q3 results is news of the supercar’s upcoming arrival. Sterrato is billed as the “all-terrain version” and will premiere at Art Basel in Miami slated to take place December 1-3. It’s unclear if the online debut is programmed for later this month or we’ll wait until the art show in Miami Beach.

Huracan Sterrato is interesting for several reasons. Not only is it an adventurous version of the naturally aspirated V10 supercar, but it’s also Lamborghini’s last model to have a pure combustion engine. Starting in 2022, any new vehicle to carry the raging bull will be electrified to some extent, before later in the second half of the decade when EVs are slated to hit the market.

The brand from Sant’Agata Bolognese hasn’t confirmed the final Huracan will sport the “Sterrato” moniker but it does make sense considering the one-off concept that launched in early June 2019 carries this nameplate. Arriving before the 911 Safari/Dakar from sister brand Porsche, the outdoor supercar will likely come exclusively as a coupe with standard all-wheel drive.

We’ll remind you of the namesake concept sitting 47 millimeters (1.85 inches) taller thanks to the re-suspension. It also had wheel tracks that were extended by 30 mm (1.18 in) on both axles while the approach and departure angles were increased by 1 and 6.5 percent, respectively. The wide-body 2019 Sterrato is engineered with rear-wheel steering and a larger body that benefits from a reinforced underbody and rear skid plate that doubles as a diffuser.

Attached here is a teaser image that was recently published which shows the production version will not deviate from concept. The protruding wheel arches are still there, as are the additional LED lights on the front and roof racks. When it arrives in a few weeks, the Huracan Sterrato will revive the spirit of the Gallardo-based Parcour concept launched by Italdesign nearly a decade ago as a high-riding supercar.
