The first day of free practice of the Valencia GP ends with the Mooney VR46 Racing Team driver Luca Marini leading in 1’30 ″ 217. Valentino Rossi’s brother gives the Doctor a first winning twist, who will be present in the paddock starting tonight. In second place in the combined standings on Friday we find the brand colleague Jorge Martin, reconfirming himself fast on the flying lap and with a gap of just 105 thousandths from the best lap.

Another Ducati, that of Jack Miller, set the third time of the day, 128 thousandths from the best time. It follows Marc Marquez, author of a fall in FP1 and another in FP2, but fortunately without reporting any consequences. The Honda champion used the first day of the Valencia GP to work on some new components, starting with the new aerodynamic package for his RC-V, with fins clearly inspired by the latest evolution of the Ducati Desmosedici.

Ducati in command, Marquez chases on day-1

Good start for too Enea Bastianini who signs the 5th time with 177 thousandths of a delay, but it is a good sign for the Gresini driver, who is aiming for the third place finish in the drivers’ standings. Fabio Quartararo and Pecco Bagnaia, in the race for the world title, are perched at close range, respectively in P8 and P9. The Yamaha ace was 1st in the first free practice session of the MotoGP class in Valencia, while Pecco Bagnaia finished only 17th (+ 0.6 sec) in the morning.

A result that has begun to worry fans and professionals in the Ducati garage. But it was enough to replace the soft with the medium at the front to already see some first steps forward by the Chivasso rider. Franco Morbidelli he crashed in the first sector after just five minutes, was unharmed and ran back to his pits. His compatriot Fabio Di Giannantonio (Ducati) also crashed at turn 2.

Also Aleix Espargarò he remedied a crash at turn 5 and is 13th in the combined FP1-FP2. The Aprilia rider risks losing third place in the final standings to Enea Bastianini, but the points are awarded in Sunday’s race and making predictions at this time would be inappropriate.
