Bugatti is slowly but surely advancing with the production plans it has for the Chiron supercar. The French company has just assembled the 400th example after about two months of assembly at its home in Molsheim. A team of 20 highly skilled mechanics and craftsmen assembled some 1,800 separate components into what is now the new Chiron Super Sport waiting to be delivered to its new owner.
There is no Chiron like any other and the 400th Chiron makes no difference to this philosophy. The supercar has a plain carbon fiber body in a dark green color that is chosen by the customer. Bugatti says creating this unique finish required a lot of “patience and careful attention to detail” – the weave of the fibers, for example, had to flow in the right direction throughout the car and across all the different panels. This requires that each panel be cut in a certain way.

As far as the green color is concerned, Bugatti says it goes well with the Chiron Super Sport’s lightweight and very strong magnesium alloy wheels. The engine cover is finished in a slightly contrasting but still very subtle Nocturne color, while Fierce color accents are used on some of the exterior components.
The interior is also tasteful with smooth black and green leather upholstery with Beluga Black dominating the cabin. Carbon fiber finishes – including the steering wheel – and black interior trim components provide an elegant finish, which matches the skin tone perfectly.
No surprises under the hood. Bugatti’s 8.0-liter quad-turbo W16 engine powers the Chiron Super Sport with 1,600 horsepower (1,176 kilowatts) in this application. Thanks to a quarter larger turbocharger and an increased maximum engine speed of 7,100 rpm, the mill output is 100 hp higher than the original Chiron from 2016. This mighty engine together with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission delivers mind-blowing acceleration from 0 to 186 miles per hour. hours (0-300 kilometers per hour) in just 12.1 seconds. The top speed is 273 mph (440 kph).
With the production of the 400th Chiron, Bugatti only has 100 more to assemble before retiring. The W16 engine will run and will be used in the track-only Mistral and Bolide roadsters.
