Mazda will expand its crossover lineup later this year with the addition of the CX-50. It’s positioned as a sturdy sibling to the slightly longer and wider CX-5, but the two are close in price and size. Mazda introduced the CX-50 in November, but we didn’t know the price until recently. The 2023 CX-50 will start at $28,025, including that $1,225 destination fee. The full price chart is below.

The entry-level CX-50 2.5 S comes with standard equipment that includes wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an eight-speaker audio system, a start button, and a range of safety features such as blind spot monitoring, ground departure warning, rear traffic alert and assistance. lane guard. Skayactiv-G’s naturally aspirated 2.5-liter engine drives this crossover. All-wheel drive is standard across the model range.

The upgrade to the 2.5 S Select adds dual-zone climate control, leather-wrapped shifters and steering wheel, 40/60 folding rear seats, and a larger 10.25-inch center screen, replacing the 8.8-inch unit. The 2.5 S Preferred adds more convenience features such as heated mirrors and windshield wipers, an eight-way electric driver’s seat, and more. Starting at $30,725.

Mazda also offers a Turbo trim which adds a turbocharger to the 2.5-liter engine on the higher-end models. The extra oomph allowed Mazda to add Off-Road, Sport, and Towing modes. Adding to the sporty impression is the paddle shifter mounted on the steering wheel. Visual enhancements include larger exhaust pipes, LED taillights, and adaptive LED headlights.

Like the CX-50’s standard 2.5S line, the Turbo offers several packages. The Premium Turbo builds on the regular Turbo by adding a Bose 12-speaker sound system, satellite radio, ventilated front seats and a heated steering wheel. Turbo Premium Plus includes frameless self-feeding mirrors, heated rear seats and a cordless phone charger.

Mazda also announced a Turbo Meridian Edition model that will receive 18-inch alloy wheels, all-terrain tires, side rocker garnishes, distinctive bonnet graphics, and “a host of other special outdoor accessories.” Mazda didn’t go into detail about the accessory, but will offer more details, such as pricing, closer to its sales date.
