Cadillac Society Take
After a straight year of declines, Cadillac’s sales saw a significant increase in the third quarter of 2022, ending the marque’s extended negative performance in the US market. The notable Q3 increase was Cadillac’s first positive quarterly performance in the US market since rising in the second quarter of 2021.
The strong show is the result of a sizable recovery in inventory levels for most Cadillac models, with the five nameplates registering a healthy year-over-year increase. Notable highlights include the Cadillac XT4 as well as the massive triple-digit gains seen by the CT4 and CT5 sedans. The XT5 is seeing healthy growth, while the XT6 is also in green. Meanwhile, the all-new Lyriq registered its first 36 shipments in Q3.
In contrast, the Cadillac Escalade was the only Cadillac to experience a decline in sales during the third quarter, recording only the second drop in sales since the fifth-generation model went on sale. Nonetheless, the full-size SUV remained the marque’s best-selling model during the quarter.
