2022 Cadillac XT5, XT6 Recalled For Improper Tire Certification Label

Cadillac’s parent company, General Motors, has issued recalls for certain units of the Cadillac XT5 and XT6 2023 luxury crossovers in response to issues with inappropriate tire certification labels.

Problem: affected vehicles may not have legible tire certification labels. This label is located on the B-pillar of the driver’s side of the vehicle, and contains the correct tire size information, essential for meeting S4.3.3 of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 110, which relates to “Selection of tires and rims and motors information on the carrying capacity of home/recreational vehicle trailers for motor vehicles with a GVWR of 4,536 kilograms (10,000 pounds) or less.”

Danger: if the label is illegible, the wrong tire size can be used on the affected Cadillac XT5 and XT6 2023 examples. This can increase the risk of an accident.

The fix: The dealer technician will replace the vehicle’s tire certification label with a label that lists the correct tire size in clearly legible print. Technicians are instructed to remove the old label before installing the new one, and not to place the new label on top of the existing one.
