Kevin Hart’s Plymouth Roadrunner Restomod Nearly Has Veyron Horsepower

Comedian Kevin Hart is a fan of American muscle cars, and his latest collection is the 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner restomod with 940 horsepower (701 kilowatts) of a 426-cubic-inch (6.98 liter) supercharged V8. Salvaggio Design takes care of making the average machine.

The Roadrunner Hart rides on a custom frame and has new parts for the floor, firewall, radiator mount, crankcase and trunk. Inside, there is an integrated roll cage. It rides the Detroit Speed & Engineering X-Gen 595 front suspension package integrated into the chassis.

Under the hood, Salvaggio describes the V8 as a hybrid between the Demon and Hellelephant engines. It has overhauled the internals, including new cranks, pistons, connecting rods, camshafts, and heads. The Whipple’s 3.8-liter supercharger in Orange Candy satin paint sits like a crown over the powerplant. The 940-hp output is dyno-verified.

The engine sends power to a reinforced Tremec 6060 six-speed manual transmission. The rear axle has a gear ratio of 3.70.

The Roadrunner Hart retains the general appearance of the original, but there are many adjustments to the body. Only the roof, doors, fenders and rear panels carried over from the donor car. There is a carbon fiber hood with a spoon in the middle. The flat-mounted bumper is also made of carbon fiber. The three-piece grille, taillight cover, driver’s mirror and door handles are now billet aluminum components.

To maintain the vintage look, there is a three-part billet hub cap that covers the HRE wheels. If you look closely, it’s possible to see Brembo brakes with six-piston calipers clamping 14-inch rotors up front and four-piston plugs with 13-inch discs at the rear.

Inside, there’s a billet instrument cluster housing the Dakota Digital gauge. Black Italian leather covers the cabin, and some parts have an orange splash effect.

To match his car, Hart also got a pair of custom-made Nike Air Max 90 sneakers, a belt, and a purse in the same orange-spotted black leather that appears in the cabin. The shoe also has a carbon fiber cut and an aluminum Roadrunner badge.
