General Motors’ Brazilian subsidiary officially announced that, with the arrival of its newest entry-level model, Chevrolet now offers the most comprehensive line of utility vehicles on the Brazilian market, with options ranging from highly fuel efficient models to the Chevy Blazer EV – the brand’s flagship in the country. In total, the range consists of 10 models covering all market segments and categories.

“The new Sonic occupies the space between the Onix Activ and Tracker in the Chevrolet portfolio, which now offers the largest range of SUVs and crossovers on the market, with 10 options combining different proposals and engine types,” said GM Brazil. “This new model is here to compete in the largest segment of the national market, with almost a quarter of the market share,” the company added.

Chevrolet’s utility vehicle lineup in the Brazilian market includes the following ten models, each with its own focus, size and powertrain: Chevy Onix Activ, Sonic crossover, Tracker, Spin, Spark EUV, Captiva EV, Equinox, Equinox EV, TrailBlazer SUV and Blazer EV. Therefore, the brand has configured its portfolio with a strong emphasis on vehicles with higher suspension, and these represent around 75 percent of the overall local portfolio.

Notably, Chevrolet includes the Chevy Onix Activ hatchback and Chevy Spin MPV as utility vehicles because both offer suspension setups with higher ground clearance, unique in their respective subcategories, and because both are configured with plastic cladding and functional roof rails. Additionally, the lineup includes six ICE models, four full electric models and one body-on-frame SUV.

The all-new 2027 Chevy Sonic and Onix Activ crossovers will launch in Brazil in the coming weeks as two entry-level utility vehicles in Chevrolet’s lineup, further strengthening and expanding its commitment to the segment with the aim of increasing sales volume and market share in the South American country. In fact, Chevy will continue to expand this range by adding at least one more new model.
