The Chevy Spark is not a performance powerhouse. Even so, you can make it whatever quickly with enough time and money. Now, it looks like this Spark owner has finally cracked the code for top speed.

A new viral video is making the rounds featuring a very A confident Spark owner explains how he turned his humble subcompact into what can only be described as a budget-friendly land-based missile. According to the owner, output jumped from about 95 horsepower to 110 horsepower thanks to a potent combination of mods – an aftermarket oil filter, Pennzoil synthetic oil, and (of course) “a third of jet fuel” in the tank.
“Scootin’! In fourth gear, before the redline, I hit 130,” the owner boasted. “By Chevy Spark!”
Amazing. For context, the Chevy Spark uses a naturally aspirated 1.4L I4 LV7 engine, which produces 98 horsepower and 94 pound-feet of torque while drinking everyday pump fuel. And of course, it’s perfectly adequate for commuting, city driving, and boldly hitting the freeway with a running start and a hint of optimism. What it wasn’t designed for, however, was breaking land speed records in fourth gear.
Of course, the owner refused to elaborate on how he got the kerosene-based fuel to work well with his four-cylinder engine, because pouring the stuff straight into the tank is like filling your lawnmower with espresso. But hey, we get it – don’t want to give away the secret, right?
Whatever happens, you have to like the commitment. This is the pinnacle of driveway engineering, the kind of confidence that only comes from watching Easy to get angry repeat and decide it’s time to live your life a quarter mile at a time. Forget dyno charts, we’re running pure vibes and aviation-grade enthusiasm here.
So does a third of jet fuel turn a Chevy Spark into a fourth-gear missile? We may never know, but either way, it looks like we’re past the mach on this one. It’s true, run fast.
