The Jet Car Is A Floating Chevy Corvette C7 You Can Rent Or Buy

If you happen to visit Miami and find a Chevy Corvette C7 floating on the water, don’t worry. Don’t call 911 just yet. Watch closely because you might run into the Jet Car – the floating C7 Corvette that has been gaining attention in Florida lately.

Designed to look like an American sports car, the Jet Car is available for rent or purchase in Miami. Being a two-seater without a roof, the Jet Car is almost a jetski even though the company refuses to call it that. The driver and passengers sit side by side in the Jet Car, just like the Corvettes we saw in Dubai earlier.

Unlike those from the Middle East, Jet Cars will not incur additional fees if you wish to rent them. It costs $350 per hour with a minimum of one hour of use.

However, if you wish to purchase, you can do so by placing a non-refundable deposit of $500 on the Jet Car website (see resource link below). That amount will be deducted from the price of the vehicle, which ranges from $46,000 to $55,000, depending on machine hours per year.

It’s a pricey buy, considering the new Corvette C8 is all around the ballpark, but a mid-engine sports car can’t float on water, can it?

Then again, the Jet Car is not amphibious, so it doesn’t run on land. You’ll have to drag it to shore, which isn’t difficult as it weighs only about 1,200 pounds (544 kilograms). For the record, it is powered by a Yamaha Marine 4-cylinder, 4-stroke 1.8 liter high output engine, capable of catapulting the boat at up to 65 miles per hour (105 kilometers per hour).

Other amenities include headlights, taillights, navigation/aft lights, windshield wipers, and a Bluetooth radio system connected to four premium 6-inch speakers.
