2023 Ford Super Duty Debuts Today: Watch Live Stream

After unveiling the new Mustang earlier this month, Ford will unveil a completely different vehicle that was developed for work rather than play. The Super Duty 2023 lineup debuted on KenTRUCKy Day, which was a real thing that Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear announced. The event was organized to take place at Churchill Downs, home to the Kentucky Derby, where the F-250/F-350 will open cover today against the Chevy 2024 Silverado HD.

Despite some teasers in preparation for today’s premiere, Ford has been very quiet about the new Super Duty. One of the clips shared on social media does show a side logo with a red “6.7L” next to the letters “Power Stroke”, thus revealing the diesel power will remain. As a side note, Chevy updated the 6.6-liter Duramax and now makes 470 hp (346 kW) and a colossal 975 lb-ft (1,322 Nm) of torque.

On the petrol side, a recent report indicated the Super Duty 2023 will receive a newly developed 6.8-liter V8 to replace the aging 6.2-liter V8 dubbed the “Boss.” The mid-cycle refresh isn’t likely to introduce a hybrid option for the workhorse, so the big trucks are believed to be more powerful with ICE-specific powertrains.

Spy shots have revealed that the Blue Oval is once again gearing up for an extensive range of trim levels as we’ve seen on the XL and XLT prototypes as well as the more luxurious King Ranch and Platinum. All are expected to share a redesigned front similar to the F-150’s smaller fascia. There should be some significant changes on the inside where a source close to Dearborn has pointed out a large, potentially 12-inch screen on the high-end trim.

Following today’s official debut, the revised Ford Super Duty will go on sale in early 2023. Production is expected to continue at factories in Kentucky and Ohio.
