Before the very expensive Mercedes-AMG One, the AMG GT 63 S 4MATIC+ E Performance was the most powerful road-legal AMG. The alphanumeric soup of this four-door plug-in coupe makes 831 horsepower (620 kilowatts) and 1,033 pound-feet (1,400 Newton-meters) of torque in stock form.
But unlike the elaborate AMG One hypercar, which requires an engine rebuilt after every 50,000 kilometers (about 31,000 miles), the Performance AMG GT 63 SE can receive aftermarket tuning.
Case in point: Opus delivers stage 1 performance tuning of PHEV.

The Nurburgring-based tuner enhances the AMG GT 63 SE Performance, allowing the electrified model to produce up to 952 hp (710 kW) and electronically limited torque of 1,143 lb-ft (1,550 Nm). The electronics unit contributes 204 hp (152 kW) to it, while the 4.0-liter M177LS2 V8 engine makes 748 hp (558 kW).
Of course, these numbers translate into encouraging performance. Opus claims to sprint to the hundredth mark (62 miles per hour) in just 2.7 seconds from a complete stop – slightly faster than the production model. The 200 km/h (128 mph) mark can be reached in 8.55 seconds, which is one second faster than in the standard form.
Tuned version is also fast. Opus tested the AMG GT 63 SE Performance which was tuned on the Autobahn and was able to record a speed of 321 km/h (199 mph), which you can watch in the video embedded at the top of this page.
The Opus-tuned AMG GT 63 SE performance will be available for purchase in October 2022 after receiving TUV approval. The company also offers a custom exhaust hood control system and an OBD reducer module. In winter, Opus says that it will try to break the 1,000-hp barrier, although the tuner admits that it will be challenging compared to non-hybrid AMGs.
