2023 Cadillac CT5-V Gets Very Limited Availability

Supplier constraints have affected the production of the Cadillac CT5-V 2023, Cadillac Society has learned. As a result, the availability of performance-oriented sedans will be very limited.

Production of the Cadillac CT5-V takes place at the Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan, but assembly will be limited to just 20 percent. In other words, only 20 percent of all planned CT5-V units will be produced by the luxury brand. As supplier constraints remain fluid, that figure is subject to change.

Introduced alongside the first-generation CT5 for the 2020 model year, the CT5-V is a mid-level performance-oriented sedan that sits between the regular CT5 models (Luxury, Premium Luxury, Sport) and the high-end CT5-V. Blackwing in the Cadillac line. It has a more powerful engine than the “regular” 350T and 550T CT5 models, along with more capable handling, while maintaining approachability. Beyond engine and suspension upgrades, the CT5-V features a unique mesh grille, V-Series “racing Mondrian” badge, and an upgraded and sportier rear diffuser.

As a reminder, the Cadillac CT5-V 2023 draws motivation from a turbocharged 3.0L V6 petrol engine (production code LGY) with 360 horsepower and 405 pound-feet of torque. The engine is connected to the marque’s luxury 10-speed automatic transmission, sending power to the two rear wheels as standard, or to an optional all-wheel-drive system, available at a premium.

It is important to note that the aforementioned production constraints only affect the CT5-V and do not extend to the Blackwing CT5-V super sedan. However, the Blackwing CT5-V is not completely affected by supplier issues. The Carbon Fiber 1 and Carbon Fiber 2 exterior accent packages are once again limited to the 2023 model year, as are Full Semi-Aniline Leather Front seats. However, these constraints did not prevent the very high-performance Blackwing CT5-V from being built.
