Double-decker Bus Converts To Two-Story RV For Family Of Eight

Downsizing into a motorhome or RV is tough enough, but proves extra challenging when you have to bring a half dozen kids with you. Evelyn’s family found a solution, turning the double-decker bus into their two-story motor home with two bathrooms and a rooftop terrace.

The entrance of the RV is a convertible office located next to the driver’s seat. Behind it is the kitchen, with a large fridge and freezer separating the entrance from the rest of the bus. The kitchen, which has a pair of countertops, has a 30-inch sink, two-burner induction hob and oven. Two benches and a long table make up the dining area, and the entire space is lined with windows, letting in plenty of natural light. The first bathroom is located at the back of the bus.

The RV has two bathrooms in total, with the second upstairs and a separate shower. It was essential to have access to the facility with eight people – six of them children – living on the bus. The bathroom is located between the first and second floors on the stairs, providing high space for the shower head.

Upstairs is the bedroom, with the cot and the other bathroom at the back. The bus also has a washer and dryer combination, which is a must-have when you have six kids around. At the front of the bus is the main family living room and children’s play area, which is also converted into a parent’s bed which sits on the floor and is hidden under wood panels. The main living area also has a staircase to the roof terrace and solar panels.

Taking your life away and living on the road is a big decision for anyone, but doing it with two adults and six kids just complicates things even further. The family said they will continue to evaluate their living arrangements to make sure everyone is happy as they are new to the lifestyle. They’re definitely off to a great start with their gorgeous multi-story RV.
