Mercedes Vito Turned Into An Adventure 4×4 Van By German Tuner

There are many tuning companies that focus on performance modifications and luxury vehicles, but not many that work on buses and vans. Vansports is one of those companies that focuses almost entirely on vans, offering styling, off-roading and other custom upgrades. One of Vansports’ latest projects features visual and hardware enhancements for the Mercedes-Benz Vito.

The Vito is one of those models that we rarely talk about – after all, there are so many other Mercedes products that are far more interesting and appealing to our audience. But if you own a Vito and want to give it a more adventure-inspired look, Vansports has the answer with its newest kit. Called the Geotrek Edition, this model is based on the diesel-powered all-wheel-drive Vito.

You should be able to recognize some of the modifications right away. The suspension, for example, now uses a new set of springs and special off-road shock absorbers. Typical 18-inch wheels in matte bronze or matte black (as seen in the photo) is wrapped in General Grabber 235/55 all-terrain tires. Front and rear underride guard panels provide better protection for the engine and other components during off-road trips.

Unfortunately, Sportsvan did not provide a photo of the interior, although from the official press release we understand that this is actually a camper van. The German company promises a “comfortable and enjoyable camping experience all year round” thanks to the retractable roof and fully equipped living area. The van has everything you need to get off the grid, including a stationary heater, a compressor cooler box, an outdoor shower, a sink and a large battery.

Powering the Vito Geotrek Edition is a 2.1 liter twin-turbo diesel engine. It is one of the most durable Mercedes factories and has an adequate output of 190 horsepower (140 kilowatts) and 325 pound-feet (440 Newton-meters) of torque. A seven-speed automatic gearbox and all-wheel-drive system transmit power to all four wheels.

Vansports says vehicles from the gallery above are currently on sale. The color of the wheel can be changed according to customer preferences. No rates available, though.
