45 Foot Bus Converted To RV Is An Impressive Massive DIY Project

It seems like anything with wheels can be turned into a house, with vehicles large and small serving as moving living spaces. A couple decided to go to the extreme and turn a 45-foot-tall tour bus into their ideal motorhome, and it’s an impressive – and huge – DYI project.

This 45-foot-long tour bus is 8.5 feet wide and 13 feet high and runs on solar power. There is an onboard generator, but they have only used it for a few hours since moving to the bus.

Motorhomes have plenty of storage, which hides the service-installed cables. Wardrobe runs along each side of the living room and houses a thermal curtain that covers the large windows lining the bus. There is no TV, but there is a pull-out screen and a hideaway projector for entertainment.

Reclining chairs sit opposite the additional seating and fireplace located at the front of the bus. The living room flows into the large kitchen, which has plenty of counter space and a small sink – a deliberate decision for them to conserve water. The three-burner stove next to the sink uses propane, which fits perfectly next to a household refrigerator. Six pull-out kitchen drawers hide food. The dining table can accommodate two people and can be expanded to accommodate two more people.

A large bathroom separates the living room from the bedroom at the back. Comes with a stand-in shower, plenty of storage and a flush toilet.

The bedroom at the back has many functions. The Murphy bed folds up against the wall, turning the space into an office large enough for the couple to work. The bedroom also features an engine access panel in case the 1.1 million mile engine needs servicing. The cupboard is in the back, but it’s still not finished.

Outside, the bus has a sliding toolbox, with another underfloor storage space used for a variety of motorhome needs. It has a 135 gallon wastewater tank and a 125 gallon clean water tank. Anything can be home if you try hard enough.
