Revealed in June 2019, the Mercedes GLB still feels relatively fresh, but this spy shot shows a minor facelift in the works. The three-pointed star has been spotted in Germany testing a prototype of a seven-seat compact crossover that is camouflaged with camouflage throughout the front fascia as well as in and around the taillights.
Peeking through the rotating camo are new graphics for the lights on the front and rear. The LED daytime running lights appear to have been changed, but the cluster itself appears to have the same shape. Additional changes will be made to the front grille and bumper, but nothing to note as the GLB will remain largely the same.

Interior images are not available in this initial set, but it looks like the cabin is completely exposed, thus indicating that it will carry over. That should come as no surprise as the GLB’s interior remains modern thanks to the dual-screen MBUX setup, although traditionalists prefer the old layout with the display neatly integrated into the dashboard.
While GLB would live to see the next-generation model as part of the company’s newly established “Entry Luxury” lineup, we can’t say the same about certain compact cars in Mercedes’ broad portfolio. The premium brand will simplify its entry-level offering by discontinuing the hatchback and A-Class sedan by 2025. Handelsblatt have good authority B-Class minivans also live on loan time while the CLA and CLA Shooting Brakes will survive.
AMG has given the current GLB the warm “35” treatment but has refrained from bringing out the full-fat “45” model. It remains to be seen if that will happen with the mid-cycle facelift, which will be officially announced at some point in 2023.
