Cadillac China sales fell 42 percent to 36,900 units during the second quarter of 2022.

During the first six months of calendar year 2022, Cadillac China sales fell 30.6 percent to 84,100 units.

Cadillac Society Take
The decline in Cadillac China’s sales during the second quarter of 2022 was the fourth consecutive quarterly decline experienced by the luxury brand in the Chinese market. In fact, the marque’s sales volume started to fall in China during the third quarter of 2021 as a result of lower inventories caused by the shortage of semiconductors. In fact, the 36,900 units shipped in Q2 2022 represent the lowest quarterly sales volume Cadillac has seen in recent years in China.
Since Cadillac does not share the sales of every model line in the Chinese market, it is currently impossible to determine which vehicles are most affected by component shortages and production issues. However, recent reports reveal that the Cadillac CT5 has established itself as the best-selling model in the Asian country due to the high popularity the sedan continues to enjoy in the local market.
