Oh Good, Fiat Seduces A Coupe-SUV And This Is For Brazil

[ad_1]

Fiat’s next coupe-SUV is aimed at Brazil, and a new teaser campaign reveals its different profile. The new crossover will play an important role in the Brazilian market, where vehicles like this are selling well. South American style center Fiat designed the vehicle, which combines an SUV line with a sleek four-door coupe. The compact size of the crossover makes it suitable for country roads.

The new Fiat crossover will use the same platform as the Fiat Pulse, which is another vehicle recently launched for Brazil. The new Fiat Fastback will use the brand’s MLA platform, and the engine lineup should not deviate from what is offered on Pulse. In fact, a 130-horsepower (96-kilowatt) 1.0-liter turbocharged engine and a 175-hp (128-kW) turbocharged 1.7-liter engine will appear in the new model. Both powertrains must be paired to either a dual-clutch automatic transmission or a continuously variable transmission.

No information is available about a possible electric variant, which will be required if Fiat plans to sell it in Europe. Inside, Fiat is expected to receive a wealth of in-cab technology designed for Brazilian customers. Equipment must include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The new Fiat Fastback will be in the middle of the Fiat lineup for the South American market. It should be approximately 173 inches (4.4 meters) long and 66 inches (1.7 m) wide. That would make it almost as long as the Ford Bronc Sport but about six inches narrower than the Ford. Fiat should be perfect for small families or those who occasionally need to load the trunk with large objects.

Fiat hasn’t indicated whether the new crossover will arrive in Europe or elsewhere, but that’s not impossible. Fiat could give the model a bit of restyling inside and out for other markets. The teaser resembles the company’s 2018 Fastback Concept.
