Here’s How The 2023 Cadillac Lyriq Will Be Allocated To Dealers

[ad_1]

The Cadillac Lyriq 2023 ushers in the all-electric phase as the luxury brand’s first battery electric vehicle. Now, Cadillac Society has studied the methodology Cadillac will use to allocate Lyriq to dealers in the United States.

There is a bit of a challenge in determining the allocation of a new vehicle like the Cadillac Lyriq, as there is no historical sales data to collect. Thus, a two-part formula had to be devised to determine how Lyriq units were distributed across the US. The first half of the formula takes into account sales of the other Cadillac crossovers currently in the luxury brand’s lineup, the Cadillac XT4, Cadillac XT5, and Cadillac XT6, over the past 12 months. Interestingly, this statistic will not have the 90-day component, which Cadillac typically has for most of its inventory allocation models. This figure is 60 percent of Lyriq’s allocation.

The remaining half of the formula consists of customers choosing online dealers when the order book for Lyriq opens on May 19.th. The order was filled very quickly, and now interested customers can put their name on the waiting list on the luxury brand’s official website.

As a reminder, the Lyriq will be available in either rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The power output is 340 horsepower for the RWD model and 500 horsepower for the AWD model. The Lyriq RWD model is capable of 312 miles on a single charge, while the AWD model will have a range of 287 miles. Prices for the Lyriq Luxury RWD start at $62,900, while the Lyriq Luxury AWD starts at $64,900. A wider range of trim levels, such as Premium Luxury and Sport, are expected to debut later in the lifecycle of this luxury electric crossover.

Preliminary data shows that the Lyriq appeals to a new and younger buyer base, with 68 percent of Lyriq buyers being Gen X or Gen Y. Additionally, 70 percent of Lyriq buyers are new to the Cadillac brand.

Production of the Cadillac Lyriq 2023 began in late March at the Spring Hill plant in Tennessee.
