2023 Cadillac Lyriq Super Cruise Non-Functional At Production Start

Production of the all-new Cadillac Lyriq 2023 began at Cadillac’s Spring Hill plant in Tennessee in late March and is currently underway. This battery electric crossover features the luxury brand’s Super Cruise semi-autonomous driver assistance technology, but for now, the Super Cruise won’t work, Cadillac Society has learned.

Specifically, the hardware required for the Super Cruise (not to be confused with the Ultra Cruise) is installed in the new Cadillac Lyriq 2023 unit. However, the feature itself will be enabled at a later date via an over-the-air (OTA) software update, thus enabling Level 2+ automated driver assistance system.

At the moment, it’s unclear why Cadillac chose to delay the activation of the next Super Cruise version in the Cadillac Lyriq 2023. It’s also unclear when an OTA update could be sent to the luxury electric crossover to enable the feature. In the meantime, however, Cadillac Lyriq buyers are entitled to compensation for missing features, and can choose between 100,000 GM Rewards Points, which can be redeemed for things like paying for parts or service at a participating dealer, or an additional year of free charging. public at EVgo stations nationwide.

As a reminder, the Cadillac Lyriq 2023 is available in rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The power output is 340 horsepower for the RWD model and 500 horsepower for the AWD model. Prices for the Lyriq Luxury RWD start at $62,900, while the Lyriq Luxury AWD starts at $64,900.

Orders for the new Cadillac Lyriq 2023 open on May 19^th and it fills up very quickly, but interested customers can still pay a $100 deposit to add their name to the waiting list. We recently learned that the hugely popular battery-electric luxury crossover attracts a younger crowd, as 68 percent of Lyriq buyers fall into the Gen X or Gen Y demographic group. Additionally, 70 percent of shoppers are new to the Cadillac brand.
