2023 Cadillac Lyriq Prototype Captured Testing One More Time: Photos

As the official launch of the Cadillac Lyriq 2023 draws near, the all-new battery electric crossover is in the final stages of development, which includes extensive road testing. After showing several prototypes over the past few weeks, Cadillac Society recently caught another prototype on the public road, giving us another early look at the luxury crossover.

This particular prototype uses 20-inch Split Six-Spoke alloy wheels in Diamond Cut/Dark Android finish with Gloss Black aero inserts. The wheels are wrapped in 255/50R20 all-season tires, which should get the job done in the cold Michigan weather it’s driving.

The dark roof and dark window trim contrast nicely with the exterior color of the Crystal White Tricoat, similar to what we’ve seen on other prototypes in the past. It’s worth noting that the Crystal White Tricoat isn’t one of the two color options offered on the Lyriq Debut Edition, but is likely to be offered in the future, as Cadillac has indicated that more colors will eventually be introduced.

We also see a fixed glass roof, which will be standard on the Lyriq Debut Edition models.

Interestingly, the charging port door, which is located directly behind the driver’s side front wheel well, is glued with blue tape.

At the rear, the liftgate on this particular Lyriq prototype doesn’t match the white body paint, but it’s unclear whether the liftgate is painted black or not at all. This is similar to a different Cadillac Lyriq prototype that was spied on a few months ago sporting a red liftgate and a white body.

As a reminder, the Cadillac Lyriq 2023 uses the all-new BEV3 platform and is equipped with rear-wheel drive and a 100.4 kWh Ultium lithium-ion battery pack and a single Ultium Drive motor mounted on the rear axle, offering 300 miles of driving range. Shipments of the all-new battery-electric crossover are expected to begin in the spring of 2022, and will carry a starting price point of $59,990 for customers in the US, as previously reported by Cadillac Society.
