At the end of 2021, Cadillac Society knowing that the heated steering wheel feature will be withheld from most vehicles in the Cadillac lineup, including the Cadillac CT4. However, we have now learned that the feature has been reintroduced to the small luxury sedan.

Starting March 28th production, the heated steering wheel feature (production code KI3) is once again available to order on the 2022 Cadillac CT4. Previously, the heated steering wheel was restricted due to an ongoing global microchip shortage on December 6th2021, and stays within limits until March 27th2022.

All CT4 trim levels are selectable with the heated steering wheel. On basic luxury trim, it’s included as part of the Cold Weather Package, which adds $600 to the CT4’s overall price tag. Meanwhile, the Climate Package adds the feature to the CT4 Premium Luxury for an additional $1,200. The CT4 Sport and CT4-V models can be equipped with a heated steering wheel by completing the Cold Weather Package or Climate Package.

Despite the limitations of the heated steering wheel on most trims in the CT4 range, this feature has never been limited to the very high-performance Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing.

It’s also worth noting that Cadillac indicated in late 2021 that Cadillac CT4 units manufactured without the heated steering wheel feature would be eligible for reinstallation. Cadillac hasn’t indicated when that will take place, but it could happen in mid-2022.

As a reminder, the base engine for the 2022 Cadillac CT4 is a turbocharged 2.0L I4 (production code LSY), producing 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The engine is equipped as standard on the Luxury, Premium Luxury and Sport trim levels, and the model can be identified by the 350T badge on the decklid. Meanwhile, a turbocharged 2.7L I4 (production code L3B) is optional on the CT4 Premium Luxury, producing 310 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. These models can be identified by the 500T badge on the decklid. A 2.7L turbocharged engine is also standard on the CT4-V, which is tuned to produce 325 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque. All of the aforementioned CT4 trims are offered in rear-wheel or all-wheel drive.
