2023 BMW M4 CSL Returns In New Teaser Photo And Spy Video

[ad_1]

BMW has launched (possible) thousands of special editions since the company was founded in 1916, but there are only two Sport Lightweight Coupe models. The most recent came out in 2003 as M3 E46 CSL whereas the former was dated 1972 when 3.0 CSL was introduced as a special homologation. Fast forward to 2022, the iconic suffix returns for the hardcore M4 G82. It will debut on May 20, so there’s still plenty of time left for the teaser.

Division M takes for Instagram to show off the blurry profile of the M4 CSL and red accents all over the underside of this sporty coupe. We’ve seen the flashy color before in a recent spy shot where an eye-catching red was applied to the calipers and bucket seats with their carbon fiber shells. Additionally, the prototype has red paddle shifters, stitching, and the “CSL” logo embroidered on the bottom of the center console.

Separately, our spies captured a fully camouflaged prototype with an average soundtrack during last-minute testing. Despite the disguise, the ducktail spoiler is quite visible and serves as a visual display of previous CSL models. Expect lots of changes during the M4 Competition as BMW is expected to offer a strictly two-seat track-focused engine. Removing the back bench will be part of a substantial diet that will lose more than 220 pounds (100 kilograms).

Don’t look for a manual transmission lever as the M4 CSL will be an automatic only affair, with power channeled exclusively to the rear wheels. By the way, the S58 engine is rumored to get a big boost from the Competition’s 503 hp to around 550 hp. For more excitement, interesting rumors suggest BMW M is planning a Hommage based on the M4 CSL with 600 hp as its top 50.th anniversary which is celebrated in 2022.

When it debuts a week from today, expect an incredible price tag for what will be a limited edition special. Fans will likely have to pay six figures and struggle to secure what we hear is only about 1,000 cars.
