2024 Porsche Panamera Appears In Image Of Infotainment Screen


Different models, different product strategies. While the Tiger EV will sign a death warrant for the combustion engine model by 2024, the Panamera and Taycan will coexist peacefully in the future. Our spies have seen the sporty liftback from Zuffenhausen put to the test in next-generation guise while carrying a deceptive disguise. The Camo makes it look like Porsche is preparing for another facelift when in reality it’s an Mk3 model.

For the first time, the cabin of the Panamera 2024 has been caught on camera. If you get the Taycan vibe, you’re not alone. The first change we noticed was the absence of a large shift lever for the automatic gearbox. Take a closer look and you’ll see a shaving-like shifter located to the left of the infotainment, which you’ll also find on the EV. The electric parking brake button is above it rather than to the right as it is installed on the Taycan.

Instead of the touch screen of the lesser electric sedan, the rival AMG GT 4-Door Coupe has an assortment of capacitive touch buttons. There seem to be some traditional controls, protruding from the glass panel that looks like a fingerprint nightmare. The top screen serves as infotainment and in reverse reveals the exterior design.

However, we couldn’t see much as zooming in drastically reduced the quality of the photo. Our spies say the Panamera 2024 prototype has a screen dedicated to the front passenger. More and more luxury vehicles have this feature, and it is usually offered as an optional equipment. Time will tell if this extra screen will make its way to mainstream cars too.

Stepping out of the prototype, the quad exhaust suggests that we are dealing with a top-spec version of the Panamera 2024. It is believed that Porsche engineers will install a more powerful 2.9-liter V6 petrol engine and a more powerful 4.0-liter V8 equipped with mild hybrid technology. In addition, the E-Hybrid model is believed to receive improvements to the combustion engine and electric motor.

As for the plug-in hybrid, a recent report stated it will have a larger battery to provide much better range when the combustion engine is turned off. Additionally, the PHEV is said to benefit from faster charging.

Expect a world premiere in 2023 for what will probably be the last generation of gasoline-powered Panameras.
