General Motors will continue to expand its portfolio of affordable Chevrolet EV vehicles in emerging markets by adding the Wuling Bingo S to the brand’s lineup of electric crossovers.

Sources familiar with the automaker’s future product plans confirmed that the Wuling Bingo S will join Chevrolet’s EV crossover lineup in South America, following the regional subsidiary’s former head’s public statement that GM might introduce more SAIC-GM-Wuling electric models in Brazil. The Bingo S was launched in China late last year as an entry-level EV utility vehicle, coinciding with statements by a former GM executive.

“With the all-new Chevrolet Spark EUV already launched and the Captiva EV already confirmed, the company is considering introducing other EV models in Brazil using the same formula,” former GM South America President Santiago Chamorro said at a future of mobility forum held in the South American country.

It has just been revealed that GM South America’s new President, Thomas Owsianski, has approved the import of the Wuling Bingo S this year as a new addition to the Chevrolet EV lineup in Brazil, thus strengthening the company’s offering of zero-emission entry-level vehicles. The plan was reportedly recently communicated to the brand’s authorized dealer network in the country, and the company informed them that the new model will be the brand’s most affordable electric vehicle.

Similar to the Chevy Spark EUV and Captiva EV introduced in 2025, GM’s plan to integrate the Wuling Bingo S into its Chevrolet EV crossover lineup involves rebranding the SGMW joint venture vehicle with a Bowtie logo and a new name. To achieve this, the Chinese automaker could also make minor design adjustments to align the Bingo S with Chevy’s global corporate identity.

The Wuling Bingo S, which has been renamed the Chevrolet EV, is expected to officially debut this year in Brazil, with its arrival scheduled for the last quarter. The company will be positioned to compete aggressively in the low-end small electric vehicle market, which is increasingly popular in the country. At the moment the official name of the vehicle has not been revealed, but it is likely to have international reach, similar to the Spark EUV and Captiva EV.
