- Tolman Engineering completely restored a DC2 generation Integra Type R.
- Integra is one of four one-off commissions from Tolman planned for 2026.
- The car has been fully restored but also slightly upgraded for better everyday usability.
Tolman Engineering may be known for its success in motorsports, but the company has also made equally successful breakthroughs in restoration and restomod work. The first to arrive was the Peugeot 205 GTI Tolman Edition. Now we have the one-of-a-kind Honda Integra Type R Tolman Edition.
Rather than simply turning the Integra into a restomod, Tolman’s team restored it to better-than-new condition. The finished product celebrates the engine without radically changing it.

Tolman cleaned all rusted metal, reinstalled structural components, and added more soundproofing wherever possible. The paint was swapped to Sorrento Green to match the owner’s Peugeot 205 GTI Tolman Edition. And all the rubber seals and trim were replaced too.
Under the hood, the B18C’s four-cylinder engine was freshened up before being dyno tested to ensure it produced the factory-promised 190 hp.
Tolman completely updated the suspension, refined the 15.0-inch Enkei wheels, and installed a set of Michelin tires. Then the car traveled 100 miles as a validation test for all the work done.
The process took 740 hours from start to finish, and the end result is an Integra Type R that’s slightly better than new.
Motorcycle Pickup1: These sympathetic restorations could become a rising trend in the face of endless restomods that rob vehicles of their original charm. Restomod is sure to be fun. But there’s something great about a simple, clean restoration.
