About the Chevy Bolt
The all-new 2027 Chevy Bolt arrives as the most affordable electric vehicle in the US. However, this subcompact battery-electric hatchback crossover comes with technology – thanks to the GM Global B electronic architecture – convenience features, and a number of new safety features on its two trim levels: LT and RS.
That includes GM’s award-winning Super Cruise with Route Following feature, which tracks destinations set in the navigation system by changing lanes and highway intersections – available on both trims. Semi-autonomous driver assistance features are expected to be available later this year.
Additionally, heated and ventilated driver and front passenger seats are standard on the RS trim.
Here are all the available paint colors.
The 2027 Chevy Bolt is powered by the same electric motor as the Chevy Equinox EV, producing 210 horsepower, with front-wheel drive (FWD) as the only configuration.
The range was 262 miles – higher than originally estimated. It gets an LFP battery with a capacity of 65 kWh which is capable of charging 150 kW. This allows the new Bolt to charge from 10-80 percent in 26 minutes. And it gets a NACS charging port, meaning the Bolt can access the Tesla Supercharger network. Adapters will be available for use on CCS chargers.
Notably, every 2027 Chevy Bolt comes with a surprise in the glovebox.
The current manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) for the 2027 Chevy Bolt ranges from $28,995 to $32,995. This includes a destination shipping charge (DFC) of $1,395. Here are the prices with options and plans.
An online configurator tool is available for the 2027 Bolt.
Here are all the 2027 Chevy Bolt order limits as of February, but base model configurations are now available.
Fans of America’s cheapest new electric vehicle will be disappointed to hear that Chevy Bolt production will end in 2027, lasting only about 18 months at the Fairfax Assembly Plant in Kansas before ending to make room for gas-powered vehicles. Despite being made in the US, surprisingly, Chinese parts make up the majority, or 51 percent, of total Bolt production.
In this exclusive GM Authority video, below, we wonder if GM has perfected the Bolt formula, even though America’s most affordable EV will only be available in the short term:
