Chrysler recalls Pacifica and Voyager minivans due to air bag problems. Certain vehicles may be manufactured with curtain airbags that may not be able to withstand sufficient pressure during operation, increasing the risk of occupants being ejected through the side window during certain accidents.

This voluntary recall affects 178,246 2022-2026 minivans, with 30 percent of Pacifica and Voyager models possibly experiencing the defect. Stellantis has recalled such models before due to problems with curtain airbags, issuing the first ones last May, followed by smaller ones in September.

Since Chrysler issued its first recall for defective airbags last year, the automaker has held regular meetings with its suppliers. Then, in March, the automaker discovered a manufacturing issue with certain supplemental curtain airbags, which likely did not comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards.
