Lamborghini Aventador Replacement Will Debut At The End Of March 2023

All good things ended when Lamborghini said goodbye to the Aventador after more than a decade, wrapping up production of the V12 supercar with an extraordinary tribute to the one-off Miura Roadster concept. Looking ahead, his replacement is getting closer considering the company CEO informed ABC News The new flagship will premiere towards the end of Q1 2023. Stephan Winkelmann confirms it will be a plug-in hybrid with an all-new V12 engine.

Although the official premiere is only a few months away, the order book is already open and nearly 3,000 people have signed their names on the dotted line to claim the new supercar. The man who carried out the shooting in Sant’Agata Bolognese said only a handful of people were given the opportunity to see the car, which is showing signs of early commercial success.

Separately, Lamborghini chief technical officer Rouven Mohr told Auto Express the new mid-engined supercar will deliver “more power, more rev, more sound.” As a refresher, the Aventador Ultimae produces 780 horsepower (574 kilowatts) at 8,500 rpm and 531 pound-feet (720 Newton-meters) of torque from 6,750 rpm. The Sián FKP 37 hybrid with its supercapacitor technology (which will not be used for the Aventador replacement) produces a combined 819 hp (602 kW) at 8,500 rpm and the same 531 lb-ft (720 Nm) from the same 6,750 rpm.

Rouven Mohr went on to say the new V12 engine “would be awesome” and would provide an unspecified electric range thanks to the battery pack. CEO Stephan Winkelmann also spoke with Auto Express and described the vehicle as “amazing” before adding “the legs are light, and you don’t feel the extra weight.” For reference, the Ultimee coupe weighs 1,550 kilograms (3,417 pounds) dry while the Sián FKP 37 weighs 1,595 kg (3,516 pounds) before adding liquids.

Before the successor to the Aventador debuts in late Q1 2023, Lamborghini is just a few weeks away from launching its final petrol-only car. The all-terrain Huracan – possibly called the Sterrato – will have limited production, according to Stephan Winkelmann. The idea behind the jacked-up supercar was born in 2015 but it wasn’t until he returned three years ago that a decision was taken to give the project the green light.

Lamborghini officials say you “can’t go on desert dunes” but can tackle dirt roads thanks to the higher ground clearance. The world premiere of the naturally aspirated V10 engine with all-wheel drive is scheduled to take place in early December during Art Basel 2022 in Miami.
