Mitsubishi Delica Mini 2023 Official Images The Little Off-Roader Preview

Delica will celebrate 55th anniversary in 2023 when Mitsubishi plans to expand the model lineup with small derivatives. Aptly named the Delica Mini, the small, upright, boxy van is being previewed in several official images ahead of its slated debut to take place in January at the Tokyo Auto Salon. The rugged pint-sized vehicle, painted in Ash Green Metallic, is slated to go on sale late next year.

With this just a preview, Mitsubishi is tight-lipped about the technical specifications. However, we may be dealing with a kei version of the car, which seems to be based on the latest eK. The Japanese marque says its new Delica Mini has 4WD and we can see the Hybrid badge on the tailgate. The fourth-generation eK kei car is offered in Japan with an electrified powertrain and all-wheel drive.

The “lightweight super-tall wagon” promises to be “small but tough.” In typical minivan mode, it will have sliding doors for easy entry similar to the updated eK Space and Nissan Roox. The Delica Mini has some of the smallest skid plates we’ve seen, along with semicircular headlights and square wheel arches. Mitsubishi intends to sell the tiny car with two-tone paint and dark silver alloy wheels.

The Delica Mini is likely to have similar dimensions to the eK, which is 3,395 mm (133.7 in), 1475 mm (58.1 in) wide and has a wheelbase of 2495 mm (98.2 in). Depending on the version, the eK height varies from 1640 to 1660 mm (64.6 to 65.4 in). Power must come from a three-cylinder, 658 cc turbocharged petrol engine running with an electric motor and a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

Full disclosure will take place in mid-January at TAS 2023 in Japan.
