Hennessey Venom 1200 Mustang GT500 Revealed As The Most Powerful Version

When Ford revealed an updated version of the Mustang Shelby GT500 a few years ago, it came with the most power-dense supercharged V8 ever installed in a production car. It produces up to 760 horsepower (567 kilowatts) and 625 pound-feet (847 Newton-meters) of torque in standard form.

But Hennessey Performance takes it further with improvements to its flagship Venom 1200. This Texas tuner is capable of producing a 58 percent increase over factory engine output, making this Mustang one of the most powerful muscle cars Hennessey Performance has ever produced.

The Venom 1200 upgrade on the stock Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 comes with a higher capacity 3.8 liter supercharger, high flow induction system, new fuel rails and injectors, and an air/oil separation system. Additionally, improved fittings, ducts, belts and tensioners are part of the package, as well as a recalibrated flex-fuel engine and dual-clutch transmission to meet the hypercar’s power output levels.

Results? The Hennessey Venom 1200 Mustang GT500 now produces 1,204 hp (898 kW) and 902 lb-ft (1,223 Nm) of torque on E85 or race fuel, calibrated via Hennessey’s internal dynamometer before being tested on the road. The previous Hennessey-tuned Mustang GT500 was only built for up to 1,000 horses.

In addition to engine upgrades, the Venom 1200 Mustang GT500 also comes with a unique exterior badge and a special serial number plaque. For the record, only 66 units will be made by Hennessey Performance with prices starting at $59,950 accompanied by a comprehensive 1 year / 12,000 mile warranty.

Meanwhile, Hennessey is also offering an optional upgrade to the historic 24 Hours Daytona Ford Mark II GT40 in red, white, and black, as seen in the vehicle in the gallery above. This option costs an additional $4,950.
