Glickenhaus 008 Rendered As Military Vehicle With Guns On Roof

Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus appears to be considering expanding its manufacture of supercars and off-roaders by introducing products specifically for the armed forces. New renderings show the train version 008 as a fast response vehicle. The company says military, fire, and law enforcement Boot variants will come later.

This version of the Glickenhaus 008 looks mostly like the existing version except for the extra lighting on the front and olive colored paint. Oh, there’s a gun on the roof too. Judging from the design, it seems that the passengers in the vehicle will control the weapon. Roof racks provide space for transporting additional equipment.

The Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus first showcased the 008 in March 2020 as a vehicle that blends styling cues from the 004 supercar and the off-roader Boot. The suspension design allows for plenty of wheel movement to cushion bumps during high-speed blasts over rough terrain.

In May 2022, Glickenhaus announced that the consumer spec 008 would start at $99.995 before options. In October, the company showed a pair of tubular space prototypes as an indication of the current state of development.

Glickenhaus site for 008 has not provided detailed powertrain specifications. This model features a center-mounted engine, 33-spline axle and Wilwood brakes. A picture on the company’s Facebook page appears to show the vehicle using the V8 powerplant.

It’s not clear how seriously Glickenhaus is pursuing military contracts for the 008 or the Boot, but there are other American automakers seeing interest in this segment. For example, GM Defense supplies Infantry Troop Vehicles. It offers room for nine soldiers and their gear. Some of the underlying parts are derived from the Chevrolet Performance racing components. There’s even a Multimatic Dynamic Suspensions Spool Valve (DSSV) damper to absorb rough terrain.

GM Defense is also experimenting with EV military vehicles. It built an electric Infantry Troop Vehicle as a demonstrator. In the future, a variant of the Ultium platform may be used in the US armed forces.
