1974 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow Freddie Mercury To Be Auctioned

Of all the rockstars who died in the world, Freddie Mercury was probably one of the greatest. At the height of the band’s popularity in the ’80s, Mercury was brought into the recording studio by his 1974 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow.

And now, that same Rolls could be yours. Registered in duPont Registry, Mercury’s Silver Shadow will be offered at London auction without reserve in November. Even better, the proceeds from the sale will be donated to charity.

According to the list, the 1974 Silver Shadow became Mercury’s in 1979. The car’s early years have never been documented but it is known that it was acquired by Mercury’s company Goose Productions Ltd.

However, if you thought that you would be driving the same car celebrity rock stars used to drive before, you are wrong. Mercury was allegedly driven by his private chauffeur because he never got a full driver’s license. After all, the back seat would be a better place if you wanted to relive Mercury’s Rolls-Royce days.

The car remained in Mercury’s possession until his death in 1991. It still has the original 6.75 liter V8 engine under the hood and is finished in Silver Chalice above the Blue interior, the same combination the car had when it first hit British roads. in June 1974.
