The land truck is designed to tackle the toughest terrain and be self-sufficient for days in the wilderness. It’s a powerful machine, and the 27 North Ascender A30 is just that. However, step inside a dedicated camper interior, and you will find a beautiful and luxurious living room packed with modern technology and thoughtful features.
The main focal point of the camper is the kitchen, which has walnut doors and cabinet drawers. It also has a special quartz countertop. The high efficiency induction hob sits on top of the all-in-one microwave/convection oven. On the opposite side of the window is a residential sink with a smart faucet and one of the two TVs – the other is in the bedroom. It monitors water usage and can send alerts when you use too much, which is a clever use of technology.
The dining table, which can accommodate up to five adults, is located at the back of the camper. The desk chair and bench can be converted into a second bend that has a six-inch thick mattress. The wet bath also has a quartz countertop, which sits under the smart mirror, and the shower is big enough for two. The camper has a 150 gallon fresh water tank, a 50 gallon gray water tank, and a 25 gallon black water tank.
The bedroom area is at the front above the cab of the truck, which is a beefy, modified Ford F-550. This room features a king bed with memory foam mattress surrounded by limo-tinted windows, reading light and power outlet. Future models will feature additional headroom, lowering the bed and raising the roof.
The truck’s rugged aesthetic is more than just show. Ford has an improved grille to protect the radiator, with added protection for other mechanical parts. The pickup also features a fixed sidestep and rocker bar. Getting into a large rig camper requires electronic folding steps, which automatically retract when the truck starts moving.
